Khaliat al nahl (Honeycomb Buns) is a traditional Yemeni pastry recipe made of sweet, cloud-like balls of dough filled with cream cheese and drenched in honey or sweetened condensed milk

Khaliat al Nahl is sweet bread or buns that entice your eyes, seduce your taste buds, and leave you in a state of wonder and imagination. They are feather-light, soft, tender, and absolutely delectable.

KHALIAT NAHAL INGREDIENTS: DOUGH INGREDIENTS: – whole milk, lukewarm – active dry yeast – granulated sugar – all-purpose flour – unsalted butter, melted – egg – cream cheese

INSTRUCTIONS First, add sugar and yeast to the lukewarm milk and set the yeast mixture aside for 10 minutes to activate. Next, in a large bowl, combine flour, egg, and, melted butter. Add the activated yeast to the flour and mix until all is combined

INSTRUCTIONS Then, knead the bread dough for 5 minutes until a soft dough ball is formed. You can mix the dough with a stand mixer. Just follow the same steps and add the ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer and mix on medium speed for 5 minutes.

INSTRUCTIONS After that, place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rest in a warm place for 45 minutes or until it doubles in size.

ASSEMBLY: -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. -Divide the plain cream cheese into equal pieces (about 1 teaspoon each). - After that, divide the risen dough into two dough balls (equal pieces). Place one dough ball on a flat surface. Flatten the round ball and then shape it into equal-sized circles.

ASSEMBLY: -Now, place the cream cheese balls in the middle, then close up the dough to form a ball. Then, place the stuffed dough in a baking dish (an 8-inch round baking dish or round pan). Brush the small buns with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds.

ASSEMBLY: -After that, bake the stuffed balls for 18–20 minutes at 400 degrees F. Broil on high until golden. Drizzle beehive sweet buns with honey or sweet condensed milk.
