Ingredients

  • 2 cups ground chicken breast
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. jalapeños (canned or fresh)
  • 1 tbsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp. reshly grated garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp. corn starch
  • oil for frying
  • sweet chili sauce for dipping
  • wonton wraps

Instructions

First Way to Fold Chicken Wonton

  • Lay out a single sheet of wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Dip a finger in water and apply an outline on the four sides of the wrapper. Spoon out a dollop of the filling into the center and start folding by taking two edges of the wrapper, bringing them to the center, and sealing them shut with a little pressure. Seal the sides horizontally keeping an air pocket at the top. Rotate the wonton and seal the top part now, forming a star shape. Apply a little pressure on opposite ends from the midpoint to crimp it a little, giving the shape more dimension.

Second Way to Fold Chicken Wonton

  • Place the wonton wrapper on a flat surface and dab some water along the edges. Spoon out some filling near one of the edges, not totally at corner. Flatten the mixture out, so it can be folded into a cylinder-like shape. Take the edge and fold it over about ¾ of the entire wrapper, sealing the border shut. Raise the other corners of the wrapper along with the folded sided and press to seal. Take the corner and fold them toward yourself, using a thumb to create an indent in the middle. Lastly, close the two edges with pressure. You should have a ring shaped wonton.

Steps to Make Fried Chicken Wonton

  • In a bowl, combine the ground chicken meat, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, ginger and garlic, jalapeños, salt, chili flakes, and cornstarch. Mix these with a spatula until fully combined.
  • Time to fold wontons! Fold wontons wrapper in any way you like, or choose one of the abovementioned ways.
  • In a deep pot, fill oil until it reaches the 3-inch mark. Heat it about 190 C or 375 F.
  • Carefully place six to eight wontons in each badge; make sure to keep adequate space between them. Avoid from overcrowding the pot.
  • Fry the wontons for about three to five minutes or until golden brown. Take them out and drain on paper towel. Repeat the process with the other wontons.
  • If you are still against deep-frying, make this into a steamed chicken wonton recipe by steaming the wrappers. They will still taste good.
  • Serve right away with chili sauce to really deliver a delicious punch.
