Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder (to make them crispy)

BBQ sauce:

  • ¾ cup BBQ sauce (I used sugar-free sweet & spicy BBQ sauce)
  • 2 tbsp. honey

Instructions

Preparation

  • First, you need to wash your chicken. The clean of the chicken wings under cold water helps to get rid of any smell.
  • Pat dry the wings with a paper towel. It helps to take out the excess moisture from the wings. It is a significant step if you want your wings to be crispy and flavorful.
  • The next step is to prepare the spice mix for cooking. This is needed for the air fryer chicken wings dry rub.
  • While you are doing so, do not forget to prepare your fryer. Preheat your air fryer at 350 degrees F.

Cooking

  • In a large bowl, add your cleaned and dried wings.
  • Add salt, black pepper, Kashmiri powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder.
  • Mix well until all the wings are covered with spices.
  • Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry the wings at 350 Degrees F for 20 minutes. To make sure it is evenly cooked from all the sides, flip your wings at 10 minutes intervals.
  • While your wings are cooking, prepare the sauce. Add BBQ sauce and honey to a pot and heat it on medium heat. I used sugar-free sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, but you can use whichever BBQ sauce you prefer.
  • When your sauce mixture is ready, add your air-fried chicken wings to the BBQ sauce. Mix them until all the wings are properly covered with BBQ sauce.
