Bean, also known as Fasolia in Arabic language, is a versatile ingredient that can be used to make different types of stews and soups. One of the popular yummy bean stews is Middle Eastern White Bean Stew. Itโ€™s one of the best meals to eat on cold days.

Fasolia with Meat is an authentic Middle Eastern recipe made with white beans, tender meat, tomato paste, oil, pepper paste, onion, red pepper, and black pepper. It is one of my family’s favorite stews to serve with rice.

This Middle Eastern White Bean Stew has been able to make a place in cultures across the world such as Greece, Lebanon, Iraq, etc. Each country has its own version to make this delicious stew.

Fasolia with Meat is the Lebanese version of this stew; they call it โ€œYakhnรฉt Fassouliaโ€. To make this dish, use canned beans or dry beans known as Fasolia Yabsa. Fasolia Lebanese is usually made with beef rather than lamb.

Marqat Fasolia is a traditional Iraqi recipe. This recipe, also known as โ€œIraqi White Bean Stewโ€ and โ€œKurdish White Bean Stew”, is a tasty sauce made of white beans, tomatoes, and lamb, seasoned with cumin and pepper.

Fasolada with Canned Beans is the Greek version of Fasulye recipe. It is one of the best dishes for locals; it is an authentic soup recipe made with white beans and vegetables. Most Greek restaurants include this dish in their menus.

  • bay leaves (optional)

Instructions

How to Cook the Stew Meat?

First, turn the instant pot to sautรฉ mode, add oil, and sautรฉ the stew meat until it has browned all sides.

Then, add salt, water, and bay leaves.

Now, close the lid and turn the valve to seal; cook on high pressure for 40-45 minutes.

After that, manually release the pressure and open the lid.

Once cooked, strain the broth and keep it aside with the meat.


How to Make Fasolia with Meat?

First, in a large pot, add oil and turn the heat to medium-low.

Next, add tomato paste and pepper paste. Keep stirring for 2 minutes.

After that, add chopped onions and sautรฉ for 1 minute. Now, add beans, black pepper, and red pepper. Then, sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes.

Now, add cooked stew meat, strained broth, and salt if needed.

Finally, cook on medium heat for 10 minutes until the stew has thickened.

    I made a large batch of this with stew meat, Aleppo pepper, and adding the optional garlic and cilantro. It was amazing! I took some to my co-workers and they loved it as well. Will definitely be making this again!
