No wonder this delicacy is a star dish during dinner and lunch! As if that isn’t enough, The Chicken Tikka in the Oven is also LOADED with the finest flavors that will send you in a food coma.
You Donโt Need a Grill to Make Chicken Tikka
I know kabobs remind you of cookouts in your yard, but if you ask me, kabobs arenโt just meant to be cooked over a grill. Kabobs are just amazing when roasted in the oven. You can enjoy kabobs all year round in the form of the delicious dry Chicken Tikka and not just during the summer. The Chicken Tikka is a variation of kabobs that is a very famous
dish from Indian cuisine.
The Marinade!
I love marinating meats, and I love how marinades make or break a dish. This is why I pay a lot of attention to choosing the best seasoning and sauces for whatever Iโm marinating.
Keep Your Chicken Tikka Moist and Flavorful!
The yogurt-based marinade keeps these chicken kabobs so moist and flavorful. Did you know that they are naturally gluten-free? There’s a bonus. The flavorful marinade is good for both chicken and vegetable-based dishes.
Itโs not ALL about the Heat; Itโs about the Flavor
The chicken chunks are bathed in a juicy sauce that makes them irresistible. The softness of the chicken is achieved through longer margination, ensuring that the chicken is infused with these heavenly flavors. Yogurt helps all the yummy juices cling to the chicken and adds a delicate flavor to the deep-flavored chicken pieces. Luckily, the HOT spice doesnโt obscure the unique flavors of this marvelous dish.
Why I Love the Dry Chicken Tikka In The Oven:
- It’s a perfect winter or summer time food.
- It makes a great quick meal for the family.
You can marinate your chicken pieces the night before. Just add all of your marinade ingredients into a large bowl and toss your meat around until all the meat gets covered with marinade. Then cover and refrigerate until you are ready to bake.
Add Vegetables to Your Liking
I didnโt use any vegetables this time; however, you can add any vegetables you like. For starters, colorful bell peppers, onions, zucchinis, and eggplants add a beautiful color and taste to your dry Chicken Tikka. Moreover, I love grilling or baking vegetables in the oven with Chicken Tikkas because of their incredible taste.
A great way to add vegetables is to add them in between each chicken piece. These chicken kabobs are first marinated in a yogurt dressing before being placed in the oven. This is to ensure that they are tender, delicious, and full of flavor.

Tips and Tricks for Making Chicken Tikka in the Oven:
- Soak Your Wooden Skewers or use Stainless Steel Skewers.
- To avoid burns in the oven, soak your wooden skewers overnight or at least a few hours before baking.
- If you love chicken tikka or chicken kebabs and make them often as I do, I highly recommend purchasing some stainless steel skewers. They donโt have to be soaked in water like wooden skewers.
- This is a dry chicken recipe which means it doesn’t have any sauce.; however, if you like to add sauce to your Chicken Tikka, try my butter chicken recipe sauce. Once the chicken tikka is done cooking, you can add the chicken tikka to the prepared butter chicken sauce.
- Marinate, marinate, marinate! The flavor is all in the marinade. I always marinate my chicken overnight in the refrigerator. If you donโt have time, then marinate for at least an hour.
- Cover your Baking Tray with Aluminum Foil for Easy Cooking and Cleaning.
I recommend using aluminum foil to cover your baking tray for easy cleanup. It will help kabobs not stick to the pan. Spray your tray with oil if you donโt have aluminum foil.
